Results

The third qualifying tournament of the NW Alabama Team Trail was held on Wheeler Lake. Tony Baker and Gene Roberts banged out a 5 fish limit that weighed 14.49 lbs. Baker and Roberts found their fish on the flats in 4-7 feet with Custom Line chartreuse and white spinnerbaits, Bandit chartreuse and black shallow crankbaits, and green pumpkin lizards Texas rigged. Baker and Roberts also claimed the $1000 BassCat Bonus Bucks along with $1490 for 1st place.

Jack Langston and Joey Wimberly won $590 for 2nd place with a limit that weighed 13.76 lbs.

Rahn Hogeland and Allen Guyse weighed in 5 fish at 12.38 lbs, to place 3rd and collect $465 plus $300 for a 4.87 lb Big Bass.

Mike Davis and Van Schwendimann finshed 4th with 12.36 lbs and won $365. Randy Gentle and Howard McCutchen won $255 and 5th place with 11.75 lbs. Levoyd Lemmond and Jimmy Brakefield took 6th with 11.24 lbs, and won $225.

With their win at Wheeler, Tony Baker and Gene Roberts are now atop the year-to-date standings with 327.88 points. Jack Langston and Joey Wimberly moved into 2nd with 322.27 points. Four tournaments remain to determine who goes to the Southeastern Championship, October 15-18, Columbus Lake, Columbus MS.
