The 41 teams that entered the North Central Louisiana Anglers Choice event on Lake D'Arbonne this Saturday, faced a difficult task in finding the key to catching bass in a post spawn situation. The fish were not really shallow, not really deep but scattered all over the many flats that cover the upper end of the lake.

Using a variety of lures, Monk Anderson and Stacy Boggs took the event by covering as much water as they could while targeting cypress trees and stumps with grass around them. Their 5 fish limit weighed in at 14.76 pounds earning the team a check for $1430.
The Bass cat Bonus Bucks award for $1000 toward the purchase of a new Bass Cat Boat , brought Boggs and Anderson's total winnings to $2430 for the day.

Finishing second and moving into the lead for anglers of the year was the team of Scott and Stan Smith. Scott said that most of their fish were caught on top water lures. The five fish limit which was anchored by a 6.19 largemouth tipped the scales to 13.51 pounds and earned the team a check for $710.

Mark Etier and Terry Lasyone ended a long dry spell by finishing third with 12.95 pounds and receiving a check for $620.

Ross and Steve Cagle continued to climb up the standing's list with five fish weighing 12.70 pounds for fourth place and $485.

The final four places were; Terry Blackman and Jimmy Farrer with 12.69 pounds for fifth place and $420. Chad Podey and Ken Lantrip with 12.59 pounds for sixth place and$350. Scott Dalrymple and Terry Alvis with 11.95 for seventh place and $315. Mike Baker and Floyd Tomboli with 11.39 pounds for eighth place and $245.

Scott Dalrymple and Terry Alvis won the big bass award of $410 with a beautiful 6.86 pound largemouth.

With four tournaments remaining the race for Anglers Of The Year is really up for grabs. There are still at least 18 to 20 teams with a shot at the title. Our next event will be May 24th on the Ouachita River. We will be launching at Jo Bob's on D'Arbonne Bayou.

Gayle an I would like to thank all of the teams who fished this event and put up with the extra work we asked them to do to help get the fish back in the lake. Our weigh trailer is being painted so this weigh in was a little different than most. Again thanks Guy's.
