1ST PLACE: Doug Campbell of Grant, owner of Waterfront Tackle and Sponsored by Ranger Boats and Yamaha Motors and Johnathan Keel of Scottsboro had a five fish limit that topped the scales with an impressive 27.35 pounds and their bag also had the Big Bass that weighed in at 8.86 pounds.

The team started their morning fishing shallow humps and points with a Dumaflodger Spinnerbait as the sun got higher, they had to slow down and use a Ultra Strike Salty Stick with the
2 iG strike enhancer fishing it extremely slow on hard bottom points that had gravel or clay near spawning areas, where they found that the fish still had not moved out yet. The team was also using the new BassMedics 2 iG Extreme Rods which are lightweight and extremely sensitive with plenty of backbone. Doug and Johnathan took home the Pot of Gold worth $1440.

2nd PLACE: Phillip Nunnelley owner of Pasquale's Restaurants and Eddie Woods owner of Kraft Roofing Company, both from Cullman came to the scales with another big limit of fish that weighed 20.90 pounds to take home a check of $570.

The team had a Run and Gun pattern that paid off for them. They caught a good limit early fishing deep using a Davis Pro Vibe Jig and a 12" worm, but when the sun got up and the water warming they moved shallow to better their limit with a 1 oz. Davis Pro Vibe Spinnerbait.

Their Sponsors Anderson Boats, Ranger and Mercury Marine should be proud of this team. In 2003 they were Anglers of the Year for the Choice Division for Anglers Choice, and now have taken over the lead for the Guntersville Teams Anglers of the Year race.

3rd PLACE: Kevin Stubblefield of Scottsboro who works for Marshall County Engineers Office and Marty Pritchett of Scottsboro who is a UPS Man missed 2nd Place by 40/100's of an ounce with a limit weighing 20.50 pounds and received a check for $355.

They also had a Run and Gun pattern stopping and looking for shad. If the shad were present they spent time, if no they moved on to the next hole. Fishing in 10' of water using a crankbait they caught 10 fish all day but their best four came first thing in the morning.

Coming up on May 29th is the N. E. Alabama Teams on Neely Henry at the City Docks and on June 5 and 6th is the Neely Henry Super Teams with a 1st Place Guarantee of $5000. Come out and support the City of Gadsden who has always shown that they appreciate the Anglers.
