In East Tennessee and around the Southeast there is one name that fishermen have recognized as a family of great fishermen and that name is Lee. And Saturday Joe and Jeff Lee proved they were both great fishermen just like their dad Sonny Lee by finishing first and second in the Angler's Choice Tournament on Cherokee Lake. More important than that, these two men are good Christian men who are great role models for the up and coming fishermen in the area. Both of these men are Firemen that put their life on the line each day they go to work.

Joe Lee fished with his Pastor Mike Kenser to win the Angler's Choice Tournament on Cherokee Lake. Joe reported that the fishing was tough but they scrapped out a 5 fish limit that hit the scales at 16.25 pounds. Joe stated that they caught fish on a crankbait, jigging spoon and a 1/16-ounce fly. Joe also stated that it helped having a preacher in the boat.

Second place went to the team of Scott Orr and Jeff Lee, which is Joe's younger bother. This talented team used a crank-bait to catch their fish. They came to the scales with five fish that hit the scales at 15.25 pounds. Jeff reported catching over two limits of fish but just could not get the big bite to secure the win.

Third place went to Nathan Light and Larry Fitzgerald. This team weighed in four fish that weighed 11.95 pounds. Nathan reported catching his fish on a small fly but did not use the float this time.

The lunker of the day went to Bill Gates and Vernon Finnell with a beautiful 5.43-pound largemouth. Vernon said that they caught the fish on a crankbait. In all there were only 37 fish weighed in.
