Lake, Clear Lake Ca
Barrack
and Ball Win Delta
Our second tournament for
the Delta Division had us expecting big weights, and as
usual we were not disappointed. Thank you to Gene at the
Hook, Line, and Sinker for letting us hold pre signs on
Saturday, and thank you to Mark Mendez and Tom Shockley
for bringing coffee and doughnuts to the registration at
Orwood on Sunday morning. A light to moderate rain gave
way to sunny skies, and it seemed to bring the bite on as
most of the fish were caught around sparse tulles on senkos,
black and blue jigs with junebug trailers, and power worms.
Coming in first place with a limit that weighed 24.07 was
Cris Ball and Bobby Barrack. They also had a 7.96 kicker
in their limit. A job well done. In second spot with 21.64
was John Varani and Steve Sapp. This team has now taken
an early lead in the points race. Third place with 21.32
was Don Whitney and Ken Schmitt. They also had a 10.52 big
bass to earn them the Kistler Custom Rod big bass award.
Fourth place with 18.39 was Alex Agari and Mark Shima, and
in fifth place with 18.37 was Art and Bryan Roland. We would
like to thank Sacramento Pro Tackle for his sponsorship
of the trophies for this event, and a big thanks to Anglers
Choice who put on a BBQ that fed about 136 people during
our awards. For those of you who don't know him, that was
Mark Mendez doing the cooking for you. We would also like
to thank our staff of Greg Witham, Terri Killian, Richard
Murray, Alton Forthe, for all the help at this tourney.
We have seen a lot of good changes in Anglers Choice so
far this year; and for those of you who didn't hear, we
have now acquired Bass West Magazine. Those guys at corporate
have not been sitting around at all this year! So when you
see the people who work in the offices of Anglers Choice,
remember to say hello and thanks. The next tournament for
the Delta Division will be 4/28 out of Lomberg Landing,
and the restaurant will be open Sunday morning for check
in. And for those of you who may be fishing our Choice Division,
we will be having a Northern Division event out of Orwood
on 4/21. Thank you for coming out to this event, and for
choosing Anglers Choice Teams to compete in. It really was
enjoyable to see and talk with some of you during our BBQ,
and in my opinion it is one of the perks of being a your
tournament director. Hope to see all of you at Lombergs'.
